Checking Pharos EDI Service Status
An EDI verification feature is integrated into the Pharos Administrator. This runs a series of tests to check that the EDI is functioning properly. You can check the status of the Pharos EDI Service in the System > Server Configuration context.
The status of the EDI service is indicated by the following icons:
Running
- This indicates that the EDI Service is correctly configured and running.
Stopped
- This indicates that the EDI Service is incorrectly configured or stopped.
Unknown
- This indicates that the current state of the EDI service is unknown.

Web Service URL |
This is a read-only property that defines the location of the EDI Web Service. The URL is usually expressed in the form: https://<server>/PharosEDI/EdiService.asmx (for secure connection) or http://<server>/PharosEDI/EdiService.asmx (for unsecure connection) Where <server> is the name or IP address of the web server that the Pharos EDI is installed on. |
Web Site Running |
This shows whether the website that is hosting the EDI Service is running or not. |
Pharos Certificate Available |
This shows if the web site has a Pharos Server Certificate (used for SSL communications) installed on the EDI server. |
SSL Encryption Required |
This indicates whether or not the SSL has been activated in Internet Information Services for secure communication between the EDI and clients. This is turned off by default. Encryption should be enabled to protect sensitive information over the network. |
EDI Service Test |
This shows if the EDI service is running and responding to requests. |
The EDI Service status is updated every 30 seconds.
